For many children, preschool is their first community beyond their family. At Cambridge-Ellis, parents, children, teachers and staff work collaboratively to create a safe, loving community. Children see that teachers and parents around them are curious active explorers who celebrate everyday discoveries. As children and caring adults interact, they share diverse cultural and social values. Children learn the guidelines for socialization that prepare them to confidently enter the world beyond school, and build friendships that last a lifetime.
We offer parenting workshops throughout the year on topics ranging from sibling rivalry to separation to behavior management. Events such as Curriculum Night give parents the flavor of their children's CES experience. Our director, teachers, and experienced parents provide support throughout the school year and during the kindergarten search when it is time to leave our preschool. Family members join their children at school for weekly assemblies, our annual Valentine's Day Breakfast, and Grandfriends Day.
The commitment of the families at CES helps us provide a rewarding educational environment for all of our children. Parents and teachers work together to nurture children and optimize each child's early school experience. Our board of directors, PTA, and committees are all parent-driven. There are many opportunities for parents to become involved at Cambridge-Ellis.
